Balthasar, a servant to Romeo, tells Romeo that Juliet has died. Romeo, who is told there are no letters from the friar, seeks a way to accomplish his suicide. Meanwhile, Friar Laurence confronts Friar John, who was to deliver the letter to Romeo.
