I explained the advice that Polonius gives Laertes and Ophelia to my parents. They said they totally agree with the advice Polonius gives Laertes and somewhat agree with the advice Polonius gives Ophelia.
My parents said that the advice Polonius gives Laertes is what they would have done. They said that Polonius advice is still used in modern time. My parents said if they did’nt see this advice they would of still said not to act hastily, not to fight unless it was my only option, keep my apperence the same as if they were there. They said they would have stressed more on not drinking or doing drugs or getting with any girls.

With the advice that Polonius gives Ophelia my parents agreed with how Polonius says that shes young and theres many things that she does’nt know or understand. Also not to trust everything a guys says because they do lie to get what they want. I do think that a parent would give advice similar to Polonius’s advice to his children. Mainly because I have heard similar advice from my parents about behaving myself, and to fight only if I absolutley have to, not to act hastily, when I go away on a trip with my friends to vacation with my friends or to the movies, parties, or just about anywhere. My parents have also lectured me a number of times about relationships with girls, saying that I’m young and don’t know everything and not to be dumb by having sexual relations, to wait for the right one that im going to marry, and to wait to have sexual relations till I am married.
I agree that Polonius advice is modern today, because parents do say that to there children. I do think that back in those days that kids did obey and respect they’re parents much more than they do today, so I dont think that that kids today would listen to that advice, at least a majority of them would’nt listen to it. I think there is too much peer pressure today for kids today to do that type of stuff. Most kids don’t respect or obey they’re parents all the time. I think that for most kids it would make then think twice about the decesions but peer pressure and curiosity of what its like would utimatley make them do it. Im saying this because of my friends expereinces and my own experiences.
