The place that i chose to write about in this essay is the Cleveland Metro Parks Zoo. I have been to many zoo’s and I must say that I think that this zoo is by far the best I have been to. It is very large and the layout is excellent. The displays of animals and the large variety is amazing. Also the dinasaur exhibit is excellent, the way they recapture the life like showing of them. Lastly the rainforest that they added out there is neat also. The first thing that I am going to tell you about is the vast variety of animals that they have. The selection is amazing, they have all kinds of monkeys and bears from all over the world along with birds and then the regular animals like tigers and wolves and many more. They also have a butterfly building that you go into and the butterflies are all flying freely around you. It includes a vast majority of butterflies that are extinct. The next thing that I am goint to tell you about is the dinosaur exhibit that they just added.The dinosaur exhibit is an excellent exhibit to see, its definatly worth the extra money. The dinosaurs have almost a real live look to them. The way that they move and are painted is amazing. It’s like they have sensors in them or something because they move and make noise when you go up to them. Most are built to scale almost original size, some are a little smaller. At everyone of the dinosaur displays they have a board that you can read information on the dinosaur, and for the kids they hand out little pamphlets with pictures of all the dinosaurs. At the boards there are also stamps so you can stamp their pamphlets with all of them that they see. It gives the name and a brief discription of each one of them to learn, and pick a favorite if wanted. At the end of the exhibit they have a tent filled with big sand boxes with fake dinosaur bones in them for the kids to dig and find and they get to keep them. It’s really neat and it’s something that the whole family can enjoy seeing, especially the kids. The last part is the rainforest. It’s an interesting exhibit to see as far as the animals that they have in it. There however, isn’t a whole lot of trees and plants like i thought there would be. All of the animals in the rainforest displays were behind glass instead of a cage or fence material like the rest of the zoo. They had a lot of reptiles like lizards and water animals along with monkeys and birds. This concludes my report on the Cleveland Metro Parks Zoo. If you have never been or haven’t been since they added the dinosaur or rainforest exhibits I definatly recommend that you take a day and go see these. They are an amazing addition to the regular zoo things that every zoo has.
