MOTOR
Lucy uses the handrail while climbing up three stairs with ease, she uses
two feet on each step at a time. As Lucy bends over to pet the family dog, she
stoops to low, and tumbles to the ground; she gets up quickly with no difficulties
and runs after the dog, using good coordination and balance skills. She manages
to catch up with the dog, picks it up and walks back to where the chase began, it
is much more difficult for Lucy to walk while carrying the dog in her arms. Lucy
observes a group of older children playing a board game on the deck floor, she
easily sits down with her legs bent underneath her, and when the children tell her
she is too “little” and refuse to let her play she gets up effortlessly. Lucy begins
to cry loudly and searches for her mother. As mother arrives Lucy stretches her
arms toward her and is lifted and comforted. Lucy maintains a strong grip around
mom’s neck as she is carried to a small child size table and chairs where there is
crayons and coloring paper. Lucy is placed on the chair, mom continues to
comfort her and asks if she would like to color? Lucy is reluctant to stay and color
until an older female cousin sits beside her and encourages her to draw a picture.
Lucy is able to hold the crayon correctly and is able to properly organize the
coordination of her hand and eyes.
SENSORY
Lucy’s mother brings her to the coloring table, kisses her and leaves to
attend her guests. Lucy seems to manage the separation well and there is no
outburst or separation anxiety. Lucy is comfortable with many loud sounds
around her, such as music, laughter and many people speaking within her space.
